Does anyone know some movies/televised short stories like this? A few immediately come to mind...
1) I was going through my DVDs today (kinda looking to weed out my collection maybe) and happened upon a movie called "Supernova", which I put on just to remind myself what she was about... In this movie there is a spaceship with an onboard computer and the guy responsible for maintaining her quite obviously "likes her", and close to the end of the movie, you find out that she rather cares deeply for him as well.
